Adelina A. Baldonado, age 87, a resident of Los Lunas, went to meet her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Saturday, Oct. 14.

Adelina was born on Oct. 16, 1918, in the Los Lunas area in the little town of Valencia. She married her husband, the late Salomon Baldonado, and settled down in the El Cerro area. Together, they had a family of 14 children.

"Adelina, our beloved mother, lost seven of her children and still managed to keep her faith and devotions in the Lord. She gave us many blessings of which we are grateful and thankful for. She made many friends who love her dearly, and she touched many lives in more ways than one," her family wrote.

Adelina was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Peralta. She worked in the Foster Grandparent Program in the '70s and later became an office aide for the Senior Citizens Center in Los Lunas. She was so loving and enthusiastic and loved being with her friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Manuel Aragon and Beatrice Lujan Aragon; her beloved husband, Salomon Baldonado; daughter, Mary Peña; sons, Salomon, Odelio, Manuelito, Gilbert, Steven and his wife, Henrietta "Giga" Baldonado Ayala and Randy Baldonado; grandchildren, Marietta Baldonado Chaves, Laura Peña, and Santiago Gallegos Jr.; sister, Nires Gonzales; son-in-law, Richard Medina; daughter-in-law, Maria Griego Baldonado; and sister-in-law, Rose Aragon.

Adelina is survived by her loving children, Beatrice Medina, Carmen Luna, Gloria Chavez and her husband, Tobias, Richard and his wife, Frances, Lucia Spicher and her husband, Lonnie, Billy, and Manuel and his wife, Yolanda; brothers, Luciano Aragon, Processo "Pocho" Aragon, and his wife, Ida, and Ramon Aragon and his wife, Frances; 28 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren and three-times great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Santos Gonzales; son-in-law, Jake Peña; and daughters-in-law, Sally and Petra Baldonado.

Services will be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Peralta beginning with a visitation on Thursday, Oct. 19, at 6:30 p.m. with a rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. A final visitation will be held on Friday, Oct. 20, at 9:30 a.m. with a funeral Mass to be celebrated at 10 a.m. with Father Albert Gallegos officiating. Adelina will be laid to rest following the Mass at Valencia Catholic Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Arty Luna, Manuel Baldonado Jr., Brandon Gallegos, Antonio Jemez, Rodney Baldonado, Raymond Moya, Allen Baldonado and Gerald Martinez.
