On 15 September 1914, Peter married Rose Wotzka at Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Church in the village of Lake George, MN; he was age 23, she was 22. Rose was the youngest of eight children {six daughters & two sons} born to Frank & Anna (Phillips) Wotzka.

Peter died about three weeks after Rose died from a stroke; he was 79. Reportedly, when he heard she had died, he just quietly rolled over and said "She won't have to wait long."
From his obituary in the Melrose Beacon, he was a retired railroad worker, having lived in Melrose for 45 years. Son, Raymond said he worked as "implement dealer in Elrosa until the Great Depression when he lost his business because people couldn't pay their debts. He later was a truck driver -- local oil distribution & also for a produce store where he bought cream, eggs, etc. from farmer's and brought them to Saint Cloud; finally worked for the Great Northern railroad."
