Margaret Forbush Bishop Meakin, 93, passed away peacefully July 9, 2000 in American Fork, Utah, of causes incident to age.

Born 22 March 1907 in Union, Utah to Norman Lester Forbush and Rachel Ann Mitchell Forbush. She married Mathew H. Bishop on 27 November 1926 and later divorced. She married Blaine Meakin 3 July 1954 and they were later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple for all eternity on 26 June 1964.

She graduated from Jordan High school and worked for many years at the University of Utah and retired from there in 1972. She was an active member of the LDS Church. She loved the scriptures and attended many LDS doctrine classes from BYU. She enjoyed hand embroidery, crocheting, tatting and quilting and shared her beautiful handwork with family and friends. She also enjoyed reading, working in her garden and growing flowers. She loved to travel and visit family and friends from one coast to the other.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Blaine Meakin, her daughter, Shirlee Ann Bishop Ferrin and step-daughter, Barbara Meakin Hollingshaus. She is survived by her children, Russell (Claudia) Bishop of American Fork, UT; Harold (Irene) Meakin of West Jordan, UT; Robert Meakin of Costa Mesa, CA; and Beverly Wright of Salt Lake City, UT. Also surviving her are 31 grandchildren, 102 great-grandchildren and 27 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 15, 2000 in the Wasatch Lawn Mortuary Chapel, 3401 South Highland Drive, Salt Lake City. Family and friends may call at the Mortuary on Friday from 6-8 p.m. and on Saturday from 12:45-1:45 p.m. prior to services. Interment Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
