Agnes N. Hashman, 87, of Springfield, died at 11:11 a.m. on Friday, May 6, 2016 at Regency Nursing Home.
Agnes was born January 5, 1929 in Springfield, the daughter of Bernard and Elizabeth McCue Coleman. She married George W. Hashman, Jr. on February 14, 1953 in Springfield; he preceded her in death on September 27, 2015.
Agnes retired from the State of Illinois after 32 years of service. She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Church, the Altar and Rosary Society, and the American Postal Worker Union Auxiliary. She ran Hashman's Concession Stand at the Illinois State Fair for 46 years. She was also the coordinator for the Easter candy sales to support Sacred-Heart Griffin High School Band Parents for over 40 years.
She is also preceded in death by her parents and sister, Bernadine Coleman.
She is survived by her daughter, Karen (husband, Craig) Winterrowd of Flower Mound, TX; son, James (wife, Domenica "Dee") P. Hashman of Rock Spring, GA; three grandchildren, Nathan Winterrowd of Flower Mound, TX, Nicholas Hashman of Springfield, and Christopher (wife, Shannon) Hashman of Ringgold, GA; siblings, Elizabeth Adams Taylor of Peoria, IL and John "Jack" B. Coleman of Springfield; and several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and cousins.
Visitation: Family will receive friends from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Monday, May 9, 2016 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. Visitation will begin with a prayer service.
Funeral Mass: 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at Blessed Sacrament Church, 1725 S. Walnut St., Springfield with Rev. Jeff Grant, celebrant.
Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
