RITES AT CARRIER MILLS TODAY FOR MRS JOHN COWGER

Mrs Mary Alma Cowger, 81, wife of John Cowger, died at her home on North Thompson street, Carrier Mills, at 10:25 pm Saturday.

She was the daughter of the late Mr and Mrs David Heflin, and was born in Williamson county Feb 11, 1878. She was a member of the Social Brethern church of Carrier Mills, and had been in ill health for the past 10 years. She married John Cowger in 1908.

Survivors include her husband; two children, Mrs Laura Mae Todd, Carrier Mills, Miledge Cowger, RFD 2, Carrier Mills; two grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs Belle Mann of Burbank, CA, and Mrs Margaret Fletcher of Thompsonville. Two children preceded her in death.

The funeral was held at 2 pm today at the Social Brethern church in Carrier Mills with the Rev Elmer Grisham and the Rev George Dougherty officiating. Burial was in the Dillingham Shed cemetery in Williamson county. The Miller funeral home was in charge of the body until time for the funeral.

Pallbearers were Don Nolen, Howard Dunn, Leo Bynum, Earl Hancock, Arthur Henshaw, and Glen Fletcher.
