Lyle R. Mabbott, age 91, of Markesan, WI, passed away on Monday, May 2, 2016, at Cardinal Ridge Residential Care Center in Sturgeon Bay, WI.

Lyle was born July 3, 1924, in Superior, WI, the son of Maurice Lloyd and Rachel Anne (MacGregor) Mabbott. He graduated from Superior Central High School and went on to serve our country in the United States Navy. Lyle served in the Pacific Theater in World War II. On March 3, 1947, Lyle married Corrine Elizabeth Broten in Superior, WI. He worked as a parts department specialist for American Motors/Chrysler Corporation for 25 years. Lyle attended Terrace Shores Evangelical Free Church in Markesan.

Survivors include two sons, Richard (Betty) Mabbott of Pittsboro, NC and Thomas (Carol) Mabbott of Sturgeon Bay, WI; five grandchildren, Eric (Lisa) Mabbott of Greendale, WI, Jason Mabbott of Pittsboro, NC, Joe (Nell) Mabbott of Minneapolis, MN, Mandy (Justin) Mitchell of Oshkosh, WI and Rachel (Andy) Boario of Franklin, WI; eight great-grandchildren, Anabel and Lehna Mitchell both of Oshkosh, WI, Ava and Ella Boario both of Franklin, WI, Clara, and Neave Mabbott all of Minneapolis, MN and Lauren and Olivia Mabbott of Greendale, WI; one brother, John (Carla) Mabbott of Port Isabel, TX and many nieces and nephews. Lyle was preceded in death by his parents, Maurice and Rachel; wife, Corrine and two sisters, Joy Waddell and Marcia Autry.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, May 7, 2016, at 1:00 pm at Green Lake Center Cemetery in the Town of Green Lake with Full Military Honors. Pastor Gary Zacharias will officiate.
