FUNERAL OF MRS. F. W. GREEN
South Stockton, Nov. 29.—It was with saddened hearts that a large concourse of people gathered at the home of Frank W. Green Friday to pay their last respects to the memory of his wife, Mrs. Adelaide Kidder Green, whose death was briefly mentioned in Thursday's issue of the Journal. In the death of Mrs. Green, South Stockton has sustained a loss which will be deeply felt by all her friends and neighbors which were all that knew her. She was a quiet, unassuming woman, always to be found ready to take part in any plan for the benefit of the place, always ready with her little mite when any charitable plan was broached and ready to help in the entertainments given as long as her health permitted her to do so. She was a member of the Ladies' Aid and of the old Deestrict Skule, was secretary of the last named society which, with the exception of one member, attended the services in a body and the vacant chair made their hearts ache, knowing one had gone whose place would be hard to fill. A good sermon was preached by Carrie E. S. Twing, a life long friend of Mrs. Green, who spoke very feelingly of the one just left us, but not a word of praise was given that was not deserved. Three selections were sung by Mrs. Nellie Green of Ellington: Nearer My God to Thee, Saved by Grace and Jesus Lover of My Soul. Interment was in Dewittville cemetery. The bearers were E. J. White, W. A. White, F. M. Wakeman, C. C. Fenner. Relatives and friends were present from Westfield, North East, Ellington, Dewittville, Denton, Centralis, Stockton, Sinclairville. Sympathy is extended to the husband and son, brother and sister.
