Eugene was born on January 10, 1926, in Alpena to the late Michael and Mary (Montie) Precord. He served in the United States Army during World War II. On September 27, 1947, he married Ilabelle Piechan in Alpena. She preceded him in death on December 6, 1998. Eugene worked at Fletcher Paper Company for 42 years, retiring in 1988. He was a life member of V.F.W. Alpena Post 2496. Eugene was a Detroit Tigers fan and enjoyed walking around town.
Surviving are his two daughters, Gail Neff of Lake, Kim (Terry) Marzean of Presque Isle; two grandchildren, Tom Neff II, Rachel (Cody McClain) Marzean; one great granddaughter, Julia Ley; two sisters, Lillian (Harold) Carpenter, Norma Sobeck of Alpena; sister-in-law, Mildred Precord; several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Precord was preceded in death by son-in-law, Dr. Thomas Neff; 8 brothers, Anthony, John, Julius, Walter, Victor, Leonard, Ralph, Phillip; four sisters, Celia Bellmore, Genevieve Lucier, Viola Romero, Betty Precord.Memorial visitation will take place on Saturday at Bannan Funeral Home from 11 a.m. until time of the memorial service at 1 p.m. with Rev. Herbert Kitzman officiating followed by military honors by V.F.W. Alpena Post 2496.
