Services for Ralph Strickland, 87 of Thomasville will be held at 2PM, Thursday, May 5, 2016 at Allen & Allen Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Dr. Don Prevatt will officiate and interment will follow at Laurel Hill Cemetery. Mr. Strickland passed away May 1 at Archbold Hospital. Born November 17, 1928 in Climax, Georgia, he was the son of the late Bryant and Mary Jane Mimbs Strickland. He was married to Mary Bridges Strickland for 64 years, who survives. He was a member of Westside Baptist Church since 1972 where he served as a deacon and held various other positions. He was an avid fisherman who enjoyed fishing and camping with his wife, grandchildren, (whom he called his “Great” grandchildren) and family and he loved cooking for his family and friends. Other survives include son, Troy Strickland of Thomasville; daughter-in-law, Janice Strickland of Thomasville; grandchildren, Michael Strickland of Thomasville, Mary Anne Sherman and husband Jim of Endwell, New York; great-grandchildren, Kyle Sherman, Kinser Sherman and Lizzie Sherman; sister-in-law, Kathelean Strickland and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by son, Terry Strickland; brothers & sisters, Mira Strickland, Edna Strickland, Wiley Strickland, L.Z. Strickland, Annie Laura Folsom, Hilda Tabor, Robert Strickland, Clarence Strickland, and Thomas Strickland.
