Mrs. Helen Crevensten Weidler, 72, passed away peacefully Monday, December 9, 2013 surrounded by her family at Sardis Oaks Nursing Home. Helen was born August 22, 1941. She was the daughter of Mabel Eure and Clyde George Crevensten.

After graduating from Myers Park High School in 1959, she attended Salem College and then graduated with a History Major and Teaching Degree from Queens University in 1963. Shortly after graduating, she moved to Winston-Salem where she began teaching second grade, and met and married Raymond Weidler. Helen and Raymond moved back to Charlotte, where her passion for children and education continued as she taught at Sedgefield Elementary. After the birth of her two daughters, Helen became a homemaker, and continued her love for education by teaching Preschool.

Helen was an active member at Myers Park Presbyterian Church, where she taught Sunday school and served as both Deacon and Elder. She volunteered her time at her children's schools as well as the Speech and Hearing Center.

Those left to cherish her memory are her loving husband and lifelong companion of 47 years, Raymond Weidler; her two daughters, Elizabeth Weidler Gustafson of Huntersville, NC and Helen Weidler Fleming of Belmont, NC; as well as her three grandchildren, Abigail Grace Gustafson, Claire Elizabeth Gustafson, and Sean Joseph Fleming.
