He was born January 4 1899, at Carlock, Illinois a son of Eugene and Carrie Auspurger.

He married Frances Denman on November 6, 1926 at Bloomington, Illinois. She survives.

Also surviving are a son Fred Augspurger of State College, Pennsylvania; a daughter Mary Jane Anderson of Phoenix, Arizona; two brothers, George Augspurger of Phoenix, Arizona; and Paul Augspurger of California; three sisters, Margie Oswald and Zola Springer both of Aurora, Nebraska; and Zelda Rowe of Phoenix, Arizona; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son.

Mr. Augspurger was a former owner and operator of Augspurger-Pleins Chevy-Buick dealership, Lincoln, Illinois.

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Lincoln, Illinois, and the Lincoln Kiwanis, American Legion and Elks Club.
