Leslie James Battey, 88, Salt Lake City

Born June 23, 1898 to Bradford Reed Battey and Carrie B. Curtis in Tiskilwa, Illinois. Died January 31, 1987. Graduate of University of Illinois. Married Marion Simme, December 18, 1925 in St. Pauls Episcopal Church in Salt Lake City. She died November 11, 1985. Married Ruth Darvill, September 1986. Employed as an electrical engineer for General Electric Company in Salt Lake City, starting in 1925 until he retired in 1965. Member St. Pauls Episcopal Church where he was a member of the Vestry.

Survived by wife, Ruth, Bellinghton, Washington; sons, Leslie James, Jr., Bloomfield Hills, Mich.; Robert Frank, Layfayette, Calif.; nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 12 noon, Tuesday, February 3, at St. Pauls, 261 S. 900 East. Interment Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Funeral directors, Eastman's Evans & Early Mortuary.
