ITHACA - Lois K. Yennie, of Ithaca, New York, died on April 24, 2007 at Cayuga Medical Center. She was 82 years old.
Born on February 4, 1925 in New Jersey, she was the daughter of the late William J. and Johanna Van Dyk Koch. She was the widow of Donald Robert Yennie.
Don and Lois were married in 1950. She is survived by her son, Scott and his wife, Sharon of Mecklenburg, NY; daughter, Denise and her husband, Jim Ullrich of Middletown, NY; grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Lois was a secretary, most recently for Cornell University. She was passionate about cooking, sewing, knitting and traveling. She traveled widely in the US, Europe, South America and the Orient. Several extended stays were spent in Europe with Don on sabbatical, during which she was able to immerse herself in local culture and cuisine, particularly in France. She will be remembered for her wit and her attention to detail.
Arrangements will be made by the family, assisted by Bangs Funeral Home of Ithaca.
