Jack F. Fox

Jack Franklyn Fox was born Jan. 31, 1927, in the family home to the late Bruce and Leotta Younger Fox. He died at 5:30 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 27, 1994, in his home, in the same room where he was born and where his father had died.

Jack graduated from Bear Creek High School in 1944. The only time he was away from the farm was during his service time in the United States Army. He only remarked to Betty, "When I get out of the service, I am never going to leave the farm." He kept his word.

After his marriage to Elizabeth (Betty) Arnold on Nov. 19, 1952, they moved to a nearby farm and a short time later to the family farm, where they lived and reared their three children.

Jack was the fourth of five generations to work the family homestead. He devoted his life to his family and the farm. In the words of his family, "He was a good provider for his family."

Jack was a devoted family man and enjoyed his entire life working the family farm. He loved to till the land, was a home person, very conservative, loved to take walks and loved to make and eat homemade ice cream.

Jack is survived by his wife, Betty, of the home, his helpmate for 42 years; two daughters, Cynthia Fox Murphy, and her husband, Tom (Murf), and Leah Fox Morton and her husband Scott; one son, John Fox, and his wife, Janet; four grandchildren, Jennifer and Megan Fox and Chelsea and Kinsea Murphy; many nieces and nephews; and a host of dear neighbors and friends.

Services were held at 1:30 p. m. Thursday, Dec. 29, in the Stockton United Methodist Church. Burial was in Lindley Prairie Cemetery, near Stockton.
