Marie A. Mueller, 94 of Winona and formerly of Fremont, passed away April 29, 2016 at Lake Winona Manor.
Marie Anna was born at home in Norton Township on September 5, 1921 to Andrew and Katherine (Kirch) Schlink. She attended district #28 grade school and graduated from Lewiston High School in 1940.
Marie and Willard A. Mueller were married in Silo on November 3, 1945. They were later divorced.
Marie was a caring person and liked helping other people. She worked at the former Etta-Del Nursing Home in Lewiston from 1966-1972 and worked as a Home Health Aide for Winona County from 1970-1992 when she retired. After retirement she often helped out family and friends by sitting with their loved ones so they could get a break.
Marie loved reading, jigsaw and crossword puzzles, playing cards and Bingo, traveling and spending time with family and friends.
Marie is survived by her three children, Kathleen "Kathy" Erickson of Winona, Robert "Bob" (Paula) Mueller of Winona, and James "Jim" Mueller of Lewiston; eight grandchildren, Michael McElmury, Jr., Josh Erickson, Janelle, Jennifer, Michele, Toni and Tracy Mueller and Amy Reps; fourteen great-grandchildren; three sisters, Hycinthia Walters of Elgin, Theresa Kronebusch of Altura and Christina Bender of La Crosse; many nieces, nephews, cousins and special friend, Martha Johnson of Fremont.
Marie was preceded in death by her parents and three sisters, Susanna (Dan) Richie, Mildred (Melvin) Golish and Clara (Stanley) Andring.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 12:30 p.m., Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at St. Mary's Catholic Church with the Reverend James Berning officiating.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m., Tuesday at Hoff Celebration of Life Center in Goodview and one hour prior to Mass in the Visitation Commons at St. Mary's church. There were be a prayer service at 7 p.m., Tuesday at the funeral home.
She will be laid to rest at Holy Trinity Cemetery in Rollingstone.
