William "Willie" S. Yates, age 68 of Sturgis, KY died Tuesday, April 26, 2016 at Methodist Hospital Union County in Morganfield, KY. He was a coal miner for almost 20 years. He enjoyed coin collecting and occasional hunting. He also enjoyed sitting in town spending time with his friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Mattie Yates; sister, Marlene Yates
Survivors include:

1 Son: Matthew Yates of Sturgis, KY
2 Sisters: Beverly Pogue of Sturgis, KY Brenda Hollis of Sturgis, KY

Funeral service will be 11AM Sat. 4/30/2016 at Whitsell Funeral Home in Sturgis, KY. Rev. Joey Durham will officiate. Burial will be in Pythian Ridge Cemetery in Sturgis. Visitation will be 4-8PM Fri. and 9AM until service time on Sat. at the funeral home.
