Elizabeth was born November 16, 1919 in Cumberland County to the late Hettie Blue Beard and Henry Evans Canady.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Aaron Butler "A.B." Smith, Jr.; brother, Fulton Canady and sister, Ira Blue Johnson.
Elizabeth was an avid gardener and a member of the Gleaners Sunday School Class at First Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be held Monday, May 2, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. in Jernigan-Warren Chapel with the Rev. Edward Eugene Smith her son, officiating. Burial will follow in Cross Creek Cemetery #3. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
Mrs. Smith is survived by her daughter, Victoria Elizabeth Smith of the home; sons, Rev. Edward Eugene Smith and wife Anne of Charlotte; Aaron Canady Smith and wife Mylene of Seneca, S.C.; sister, Jewel Simmons of Fayetteville; grandchildren, Amy Thompson and husband Jeff, Jill Blanton and husband David, Anna Smith, and Christopher Smith and wife Christina and eight grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church 201 Anderson St. Fayetteville, N.C. 28301.
