Alberta Marie Penix went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 26, 2016 at the age of 90. She was born August 6, 1925 in Cogar, Oklahoma to her parents, William F. “Bill” and Julia (Shook) Smith. Alberta married her sweetheart, Denny Penix on March 30, 1946 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Together they raised their family and shared more than 70 years of marriage. In addition to being a loving wife, devoted mother and dedicated homemaker, Alberta also worked as a statistical clerk for the Department of Agriculture for many years. She was a longtime member of Crossroads Church for many years. She will be deeply missed.

She was preceded in death by her: parents; brother Aubrey Smith & son in law Ronnie Zwirtz

Alberta leaves behind her loving: husband, Denny Penix; daughters: Denise Zwirtz and Shelley Kendrick; son, Randy Penix and his wife, Kathy; 4 Grandchildren; 16 Great Grandchildren;
sister, Arvilla Blodgett; and numerous extended loving family and friends.

Visitation at Vondel Smith Mortuary at South Lakes: Sunday, May 1st, 2016, 2:00pm - 8:00pm and Monday, May 2nd, 2016, 4:00pm - 8:00pm. The family will be present to greet friends from 5-7 PM. on Sunday only.

The service will be Tuesday, May 3rd, 2016, 2:00pm, at Crossroads Church, 8901 S. Shields Blvd., Oklahoma City, OK.
Interment to follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens, Oklahoma City.
