"CARLYLE FUNERAL AT COOKS MILLS - Special to The Journal Gazette.
Cooks Mills, Ill., June 13.--The funeral of Mrs. Nancy E. Carlyle, who passed away on Wednesday at the family home here, was held on Friday afternoon at Mt. Zion Church, five miles southwest of Cooks Mills, and burial was in the cemetery adjoining the church. Death was due to advanced age.
Mrs. Carlyle, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Akers, was born in Indiana May 1, 1846. She came to Illinois with her parents when a small child. She was married to J. W. Carlyle about 51 years ago.
Mrs. Carlyle leaves her husband, four sons and three daughters, Mrs. Etta Miller of Brunswick, Mo., J. D. Carlyle of Iowa, C. W. Carlyle, Clarence Carlyle, Wilbur Carlyle, Mrs. Martha Anderson and Mrs. Nettie Miller, all of Mattoon and vicinity. She also leaves a brother, J. F. Akers, of Alabama."
