Visitation for Jessie Louise Roberts will be Monday, from 4-8 p.m., at Hillcrest Memorial Park. Services will be Tuesday, 10:00 a.m., at Hillcrest. Jessie was born in Cold Springs, MO, to Grace and Vernon Rogers on April 30, 1917. Jessie was the eldest of seven children. They moved to California in 1935. She married Elden Roberts in April of 1936. Jessie became a member of Gospel Gleaners Assembly of God Church in 1936. She had four children: Lorene, Vernon, Floyd and Sharon, who were all raised in the same church, now Niles Assembly of God and later became a member of Faith Temple Church. Jessie worked at Kern Medical Center from 1951 until her retirement in 1974. She was a charter member of the Missouri Club. She loved to travel, crochet, knit and embroidery. She was dedicated to her family and will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elden Roberts; daughter, Lorene Jackson; and grandson, Jon Dana Jackson. Jessie is survived by her sisters, Nina Fazendin and Georgia Burke; son, Vernon and wife, Sally; son, Floyd and wife, Sheryl; daughter, Sharon Johnson and husband, Jim; grandchildren, Phyllis, Dody, Tammy, Robin, Rhonda, Larry, Lori, David and Melvin Roberts; and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
