Wife of Clarence Butler. Daughter of William Arthur Russell and Addie Boyd Russell. The death certificate shows she was born 1903, but based on earlier census records, she was born in 1899.

She was first married to Carl Leslie Williams, 08-Oct-1917 in Cross County, AR. They had children; Opal Williams (1918-2011 and Carl Williams, Jr (1922-2004). She was sister-in-law to Fleety Mae Williams Linville, buried in this cemetery.

She and Clarence Edward Butler were married 11-Jul-1925 in Shelby County, TN. Together, they had a total of 11 children. They had three infants, born prematurely, that did not survive.

Her obituary mentions 6 surviving daughters; Ollie Christine Tahtinen, Irene Justine McClintock, Eleanor, Ruth, Mary Sue Butler and Opal Williams Thompson. Five sons; Jerry, Richard, James, Edward and Carl Williams Jr.

One of their daughters was Ollie Christine Butler Tahtinen (1928-1998), who passed away in Wisconsin. Unfortunately, with the absence of marked graves, it has been difficult to find the grave locations of other Butler children who have since passed away.

Ora Butler was living in Memphis and died of Pulmonary Tuberculosis. She had been a patient at Oakville Sanatorium in Oakville, TN. She died at her home, 1500 Thomas in Memphis.

Buried at Earle by Cosmopolitan Funeral Home on Apr 10, 1944.
