Dr. Marion Leonard Shaddix, 89, Gadsden, died yesterday at a local hospital. Graveside services at Forrest Cemetery with Collier-Butler Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Survivors include, wife, Mrs. Myrtle Mayo Shaddix; daughter, Mrs. J.C. Tolson; sisters, Mrs. J.C. Bailey, Mrs. M.E. Bishop, Miss Addie Shaddix, Mrs. O.L. Bishop; granddaughter, Susan Tolson Reid; grandsons, Marion Tolson and Jim Tolson; and four great-grandchildren. He was a native of Clay County, Alabama and resided in Gadsden since 1921. Dr. Shaddix was recognized in April 1960 at the annual convention for 50 years in the medical profession.
