Benjamin Jefferson (Ben) Hill 75-year-old Grundy Leader and father of B. B. Hill, Mt. Leo merchant and livestock raiser, died at Faulkner Springs hospital Thursday afternoon at 3:15 o'clock. Services were held at Shiloh Methodist Church. John W. High officiated and burial was in Shiloh cemetery. Mr. Hill, a member of a prominent Warren County family, was born March 22, 1878. He was a son of Irving Hill and Jane Stepp Hill and was first married to Miss Lou Smith in 1898. Following her death, Mr. Hill was married to Miss Minnie Clendenon in 1909. She survives. Residing at Beersheba Springs for a number of years, Mr. Hill was active in the affairs of the county and long took an active interest in the growth and progress of Shiloh Methodist Church. As long as his health permitted, he was a leading figure in the annual "Shiloh Day" programs. Besides his wife and son, he is survived by six other sons, Morgan, Palmer, Marcus, Richard, Marshall and J. B. Hill, Beersheba Springs, and Wayman, Sparta; four daughters, Mrs. Wiley M. Tate, Chattanooga, Mrs. Carl Willis, Pelham, Mrs. Rodney Peterson, St. Louis, Mo. And Miss Susan Hill, Beersheba. Also a brother, Marion Hill, McMinnville, and one sister, Mrs. Johnny Bess, Dilley, Texas. High Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
