HOLLOWAY, Dorothy "Dot" Allen, 86, of Montpelier, Va., transitioned this life on April 22, 2016, to join her beloved husband, Jack; and baby, Margaret Rose, in the Eternal Life as promised by our Savior. Dot was an extremely faithful, loyal and thoughtful child of God and purposely lived her life for God, her family and friends. Dot's passions were her children, church, flowers and quilting. Dot was preceded in death by her parents, Willie Joe and Ella Allen; husband, Guy M. Holloway Jr.; infant daughter, Margaret Rose; and sister, Nell Roach. Dot leaves her sons, E. Wayne Mann and wife, Linda, Guy M. Holloway III and wife, Linda and Allen P. Holloway and wife, Lisa; her grandchildren, Matt, Michael, Taylor, Morgan, Byrd, DASH, Jaime, Culley and Mallory; and her great-grandchildren, Kami, Mikey, Miles, Zack, Logan, Bristol, Noah, Corbin and Carlee; nieces, nephews and many wonderful friends. Dot's desire to leave her path a little prettier for the ones that follow her was evident by her sons, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and the many gardens that are enhanced by her irises, roses and lilies. Dot loved to quilt and she poured so much beauty and knowledge into her work, her quilts won multiple awards. She leaves behind her cherished friends at Country School Quilters, where she was a charter member. Dot's family and friends will continue to be warmed by her quilts and comforted by her spirit through the beauty of her flowers. Visitation will be held at Shiloh United Methodist Church, 17420 Shiloh Church Rd., Montpelier, on Tuesday, April 26, from 4 to 8 p.m. Funeral will be held at Shiloh UMC, with Pastor Sarah Sealand officiating, on Wednesday, April 27, at 2 p.m. Graveside service will follow at Fork Church, 12566 Old Ridge Rd., Doswell. Reception to follow at Fork Church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests consideration of a donation to Dot's church, Shiloh UMC (address above).
