Mother Mary Eleanor Steffy, a Sister of St. Joseph, who was stationed in New Jersey prior to undergoing an operation, died Wednesday in a Philadelphia hospital and was buried Saturday at Chestnut Hill.
Mother Eleanor was a daughter of the late George and Liza Eline Steffy and was born in Littlestown. She was stationed in the Hanover-McSherrystown area some years ago.
She is survived by a brother, Joseph, Canton, Mass., and a number of cousins in this vicinity. Joseph Steffy and daughter, Genevieve, and her husband, visited with friends in town on Saturday, after attending Mother Eleanor's funeral.
