Mary Elizabeth Harvey Bryant "Mae", 92, of Lynchburg, passed away on Saturday, April 23, 2016, at Lynchburg General Hospital. Born in Roseland, May 1, 1923, she was a daughter of the late James William and Mary Woodson Harvey and the former wife of the late Leonard K. Bryant, Jr.

Mary attended James Madison University and was employed as an Administrative Engineer Assistant for Babcock and Wilcox. She was an active member of Thomas Road Baptist Church since the early 1960's. She feared God and asked for His wisdom and guidance throughout her entire life. Serving in many capacities at Thomas Road, Mary was a host to those in need, a 15,000 Club Member as well as a Faith Partner. She staked her claim on Liberty Mountain and answered in any way she was called. She also served tirelessly for her family and will be greatly missed.

She is survived by three daughters, Mary Lynne Harse, Elizabeth Stevens and Dorothy Linder; five grandchildren, Dan Stevens, David Stevens, Julie Harse, Ann Linder and Emily Linder; four great-grandchildren, Sarah, Kristina, Kayla and Ella Stevens; and her sisters, Virginia Harvey and Frances Stairs.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Richard, James, William and Edward Harvey.

A funeral service will be held 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 27, 2016, at Byrum-Parr Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Jonesboro Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Youth Camp Ministry at Thomas Road Baptist Church, 1 Mountain View Rd., Lynchburg, VA 24502
