RANSOMVILLE, July 3 - Mrs. Elma E. Cowan, 85, widow of James A. Cowan, member of a pioneer family, died Sunday morning at her home in Porter Center. Mrs. Cowan was born in the town of Porter, daughter of Warren and Rosalinda Baker, early settlers. She was a member of the Porter Center Methodist Episcopal church. Surviving are two sons, Roy, Burt, and Webster Cowan at home; three daughters, Mrs. Elma Hyde, Waterport; Mrs. Merton Whittaker, Niagara Falls; and Miss Isadora Cowan, at home. Services will be held tomorrow at 2:30 standard time. The Rev. E.A. Sergel, former pastor of the Free Methodist church, will officiate. Burial will be at North Ridge.
