Norma Wardell

On Friday April 21, Heaven welcomed another Angel. Our amazingly strong, beautiful Norma Louise Wardell left her pain and trials behind and gained her wings.Norma was born on February 17, 1954, to Arthur Chapman and Myrle Thomas Wardell in SLC, UT. When she was six her family moved to Clifton. She spent her childhood developing her love for nature - flowers and birds always brought her so much joy. Norma and her siblings, Kathleen, Wesley and Royann, spent their childhoods helping with the cows, the garden, the crops ... learning the genuine love of hard work and responsibility. Despite the physical trials that began for Norma at a very young age, she graduated West Side High School in the class of 1972 and began working at Pepperidge Farms in Richmond shortly thereafter. Norma made countless dear friends, many of those people continued to love and support her even after she retired after over thirty years of service.Personal relationships were always the foremost joy in Norma's life. She especially loved spoiling her nieces and nephews, and had a knack for making friends with people of every age - young and old. She did have a special, tender place in her heart for her many older friends that she treated as family. Everything from taking them shopping to helping them keep their homes to caring for their feet, she personified Service of Others. She lived in Richmond, Utah, for a few years, but eventually built a home next door to her parents in Clifton. She loved the sunrises and mountains and hummingbirds, she loved beautifying her home and having her family and friends come to visit. Due to her declining health, she moved to Franklin County Transitional Care in 2009. No matter how much pain she was enduring or how often her body let her down, she always had such ferocious fight. Her nickname quickly became "Stormy Normy" among the staff at the nursing home ... and she lived up to that name to the very end. She had such a beautiful spirit and hilarious sense of humor, qualities that everyone that was blessed to have been loved by her will never forget.Norma's family would like to thank the countless people that made Norma a priority in their lives. She greatly enjoyed the visits from all her friends and neighbors and looked forward to the next time, every time. We are forever grateful for the tender care she received from her many nurses and aides during her residency at the Franklin County Transitional Care. Services will be held on Friday, April 29, 2016, at noon at the Clifton 2nd Ward Church with a viewing on Thursday at Webb Funeral Home, 1005 South 800 East, Preston, Idaho from 6-8 p.m. and a viewing prior to the funeral from 10:30-11:30 a.m. at the church. Interment will be at the Clifton Cemetery. Memories and condolences may be shared with the family at www.webbmortuary.com
