Mrs. Anna A. Asplund, 85, 709 Hedin, died Friday at Gogebic Medical Center, Wakefield.

Born Jan. 8, 1895, at Ironwood, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Anton Chouinard, she was a lifetime area resident. For many years she was a seamstress. On Mar. 22, 1915, she was married to Alward Asplund at Ironwood. He died in January 1953.

Mrs. Asplund was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church and the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen's Auxiliary.

Survivors include two sons, Eugene and Clyde, Ironwood; six grandchildren; 11 great- grandchildren; and one brother, Felix, San Diego.

Preceding her in death were six brothers, Joseph, Isaac, Phillip, Alfred, Anton and Louis, and one sister, Georgiana.

The funeral will be conducted by the Very Rev. Thomas Ruppe Tuesday at 10 a.m. at St. Ambrose Catholic Church. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. s

McKevitt-Kershner Funeral Home will open for visitation Monday at 5 p.m. and the parish rosary will be recited there at 7 p.m. Monday. Pallbearers will be Peter and David Asplund, David Chiantell, George Osier, David Benetti and Joseph Soltis.

She is a first cousin, one time removed of my husband Raymond W. Fitch.
