Rose Marie Shorts Bodamer, 85, of Franklin, passed away on April 20, at The Caring Place, in Franklin.
Born November 2, 1930, in Plum Township, Rose was the daughter of the late Frank and Garnet Davison Dempsey. She was of the protestant faith and was a homemaker. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading, and in the earlier years, enjoyed all outdoor activities. She especially enjoyed and participated in all the gatherings and celebrations of her large family at the family homestead.
She first married the Thomas C. Shorts Jr., and later married Walter C. Bodamer Jr., both of whom preceded her in death. Rose was also preceded in death by her four brothers, Frank, Robert, Duane, and Laurence Dempsey; her sister-in-law, Rebecca Dempsey; her son-in-law, Dave Guth; her daughter-in-law, Tina Shorts; and her step-son, Craig Bodamer.
Rose is survived by her son, Thomas C. Shorts III, and his wife, Cindy, of Mesa, Arizona; her son, Steven A. Shorts, of Germansville; her step-son, Nicholas Bodamer, of Titusville; her daughter, Roni Guth, and her partner, Ronald Myers Jr., of Franklin; her daughter, Linda Neidig, and her husband, Melvin, of Mesa, Ariz.; and her daughter, Christina Martin, of Titusville.
Rose is also survived by her brother, Morris "Gene" Dempsey, of Chagrin Falls, Ohio; her sister, Carol A. Reed, of Rockville, Ohio; 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the charity of one's choice.
Per the family's request, a private service will take place. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the Gardinier Funeral Home Inc., 1315 Chestnut Street in Franklin.
