Rudolph Fetterly, son of John Fetterly and Mary Papst, was born in Albany County, New York about 1785, and relocated with his family in 1795 to Osnabruck Twp., Stormont County, Upper Canada, third concession, where he died in the year 1838 at age 52.


- 1812 - Private in the Flank Company, 1st Regiment, Stormont Militia on service in 1812.


- 1813 - Married on 13 January 1813 in Osnabruck Twp. to Susanna Duvall, the daughter of Charles Duvall.


- 4 Oct. 1818 - Rudolph Fetterly and his wife Susanna, along with Hieronymus Crysler, the husband of Anna Fetterly, were the sponsors at the baptism of John Harvey Warner s/o John Warner and Catherine Fetterly.


- 1824 Land transaction - Rudolph Fetterly purchased the front one-half and north one-half of Lot 11, Concession 3, Osnabruck (100 acres). Property transferred in 1838 to Martin Fetterly.


- 1838 Microfilm: Rudolph Fetterly died at age 52 leaving a wife and nine children.

- MARY Fetterly, born 11 May 1814, baptised 5 June 1814, died 27 Dec. 1900 age 86. Married to Archibald Winters at her father's residence by Rev. H. Hayunga on 5 April 1837.

- CHARLES Fetterly, born 1817, died 7 Aug. 1890. Married to Julia Hawn.

- ELIAS Fetterly, 1821, died before 1861. Married to Jemima Empey of Williamsburg (1826-1887) on 13 Oct. 1846 at St. Lawrence Lutheran Church, Morrisburg. Witnesses, John Morgan and Minerva Empey.

- ROBERT EDWIN Fetterly, born 1823, died 18 Feb. 1878. Married to Jane Sheets on 30 Mar. 1847 by Rev. Isaac Purkiss.

- NANCY Fetterly, born 1824, married to Henry Winters.

- JOHN SIMON Fetterly, born 28 Nov. 1825, died 22 June 1909 Iowa, U.S.A. (110549046). Married to Caroline Bush.

- WILLIAM TAYLOR Fetterly, born 1831, married to Sarah Jane Abrams (1832-1876), and, second, to Catherine Crawford on 8 March 1881.

- REBECCA ADALINE Fetterly, born 22 March 1838, died 2 June 1919. Married to Reuben Abrams (1823-1906).

Gravesite Details

The Waterdown/Fetterly Cemetery is (as of May 2016) cared for by Harry Fetterly, a descendent of the Fetterly family buried here. They are descendents of Loyalist John Fetterly, settled in Osnabruck in 1795. Land was donated by the Fetterly family.
