There are no birth records for William or his siblings, but William is in the baptismal records (as are his siblings) of the First Church of Stonington. William was bapt. Apr 25, 1676.
William married Grace Miner on Jan 10, 1701/2 in Stonington. Grace was the daughter of Ephriam Miner (Memorial# 9528188) and Hannah Avery (Memorial# 17142544) of Stonington.
William resided first in the section of Stonington known as 'Taugwonk', and later moved to Puckhunganuck (many spellings), which later became North Stonington, where he lived the rest of his life.
On May 19, 1718 William's father Gershom Palmer deeded 325 acres at Puckhunganuck to him, as well as William's brothers Ichabod, George and Walter.
About this time, William moved to this section.
On Feb 18, 1728/9 William Palmer deeded to his and Grace's own 3 sons- William (Jr), Elihu, and Wait- two parcels of land.
On the same date, Elihu Palmer (of Stonington) deeded his interest in said land to his brothers Wait and William (Jr).
Then on Oct 8, 1729, a deed division was made among the following which recited that- whereas Gershom Palmer had given his sons Ichabod, William, George, and Walter certain parcels of land, and Ichabod had purchased his brother Walter's share, and William Sr. had made a quit-claim deed to his own sons William Jr, Eiihu of Westerly R.I., and to Wait of Stonington, and whereas George Palmer, in his will, had made his wife Hannah (together with his sons Christopher and Joseph) executors, therefore these parties now all together agree on a division of this land at Puckhunganuck (N. Stonington).
There is no death record of William (SR) or his wife, but in view of this last deed of Oct. 8, 1729, and also the one of Feb 18, 1728/9, it is assumed that William probably died soon thereafter, or else lived out his days with one of his sons.
No further records of William Palmer or his wife Grace Minor have been found.
