Bluefield, VA- Carmella Katherine Dillow, 90, of Bluefield, VA, died Thursday April 21, 2016 at Westwood Center.
Born September 15, 1925 in Bluefield, WV, she was a daughter of the late Joseph Abbatella and Rosa Trupa Abbatella.
Mrs. Dillow was a lifelong resident of Bluefield and was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She worked at Kresge’s and the Dollar Store, and loved taking care of her family. She was always there for friends and family and would give everything she had to help someone in need.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank McKinley Dillow; sister, Mary Collins; and brother, Dominick Abbatella.
Survivors include two daughters, Patricia Lou Dawson and husband Randal of Princeton, WV, and Rosemarie Taylor of Bluefield, WV; two brothers, George Abbatella and Joseph Abbatella, Jr. and wife Donna, all of Roanoke, VA; step-sister, Minnie Thompson of Martinsville, VA; one granddaughter, Christina Cartwright and husband Jamie of Princeton, WV; and two great-grandchildren, Mina Reed and Isabella Cartwright.
Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday April 23, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. from the Mercer Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Chris Stansell officiating. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until the service hour.
Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton where family members and friends will serve as pallbearers.
