Irma was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a homemaker and gardener, who along with her late husband Robert, formerly owned and operated Robert J. Spindler Construction Company. Irma was a member of St. Wendel Catholic Church, the Ladies Sodality at St. Wendel Church, St. Ann’s Auxiliary of the Knights of St. John at St. Wendel, the Busy Bees Quilter’s Club and St. Wendel and Resurrection Retiree’s Clubs.
Surviving Irma are five daughters, Louise (Bob) Kiesler of Evansville, Susan (Richard) Hopkins of Renton, WA, Phyllis (Leland) Krush of New Salisbury, IN, Linda (Roland) Cowan and Sondra (Mark) Schoenbaum, both of Evansville; three sons, Stephen (Lita) Spindler of Princeton, Alan (Lori) Spindler of Downers Grove, IL and Thomas (Teresa) Spindler of Brownsburg, IN; one sister, Mary (Malcolm) Adler of St. Wendel and one brother, Albert (Mary Ann) Will of St. Wendel. Also surviving are eleven grandchildren, Mike, Sara and Joey Kiesler, Tara Lee Krush-Smith, Chris Cowan, Elizabeth and Ann Marie Schoenbaum, Emily and Amanda Spindler, and Caitlin and Brooke Spindler and five great grandchildren, William, Dean and David Kiesler, Kinlee and Gannon Smith.
Irma was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Robert Spindler in 2011; by three sisters, Theresa Arnold, Frances Seib and Elvera Arnold and by four brothers, Alvin, Wilfred, Gilbert and Leo “Dick” Will.
There will be a Mass of Christian Burial held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, April 23, 2016 at St. Wendel Catholic Church, Rev. Ed Schnur officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Wendel Church Cemetery.
