Clyde 'Bill' James Ashworth , 78, of 206 Raynor St., died Wednesday, Feb. 7, in Durham Regional Hospital. Mr. Ashworth was a native of Fuquay-Varina and had lived in Durham most of his life. He was a retired truck driver with the City of Durham. He was of the Baptist Faith. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Carrie H. Ashworth , who died in 1964 and by the late Myrtle Bell Ashworth who died in 1990.

Graveside services will be held Saturday at 2 PM in Woodlawn Memorial Park. The Rev. Rick Finley will officiate.

Surviving are a step-son, Ben Ray of Fayetteville; one daughter, Carolyn A. Smith of Fayetteville; four step-daughters, Joyce Bruton, Rebecca Bruton, and Janet Ray, all of Fayetteville and Sally Hock of Fair Oaks, CA; one sister, Ida Mae Nowell of Durham; eleven grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Saturday from 12:30-1:30 PM at Hudson Funeral Home and at other times at the home.
