Services will be held on Thursday, April 21, 2016 at 3:00PM at Brewton Baptist Church, with burial to follow in Brewton Cemetery. Rev. Jimmy Thigpen, Rev. Allen Wiggins and Rev. Kelly Maddox will officiate. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 2:00PM until funeral hour at the church.
Mr. Bracewell graduated from East Laurens High School. He was a Veteran of the United States Navy, serving for seven years as an electrician. After military service, he attended Brewton Parker College and Middle Georgia College earning an Associate of Science degree. He furthered his education by attending Valdosta State College, earning his BS degree; and by attending Georgia Southern College where he earned his Masters of Education degree. He was employed as a teacher in both East and West Laurens schools until his retirement. He retired to enjoy fishing, woodworking and the delightful company of his grandchildren. He grew up and lived his life in the Brewton Community and was a member of Brewton Baptist Church. He and his wife were married for 48 years.
Mr. Bracewell was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer Lee and Mattie Wilma Melton Bracewell; two grandchildren, Andrew Lee and Anne Laree Jenkins.
