Dr. David Dilley Knowles, 59, died January 1, 2004 in Dallas, Texas. Burial was in Palestine City Cemetery/East Hill section. He was born March 13, 1944 at Eglin Field, Florida to the late William McMillan Knowles and Jean Van Deursen Dilley Knowles. Dr. Knowles graduated as valedictorian from Palestine High School in 1962 and received his B.A. from Vanderbilt University in 1967. He received his M.D. degree from The University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston in 1971. He was board certified by the American Society of Addiction Medicine. He is survived by sons, Patrick Knowles of Portland, Oregon, and Colin Knowles of Arlington; by his former wife, Pat Rogers of Portland, and by the former Carol Holland of Hideaway Lakes; brother, Bill Knowles of Palestine, Mary Knowles of Palestine; and nephews, Second Lieutenant Ian Knowles and Alexander Knowles.
