Landon Francis Decker was born to William Everet and Mary Elizabeth Decker, March 3, 1875, Saline County, Missouri and departed this like September 15, 1953 at the age of 78 years, 6 months and 12 days.
He was married to Eddie May Harmon, September 1, 1895 in Saline County, Missouri. To this union nine children were born. He was preceded in death by his wife Eddie May and 2 infant sons.
They moved from Missouri to Garfield County, Oklahoma in the fall of 1899 where they made their home until November 7, 1900, when her filed a claim and moved his family on it. It was located 12 miles south of Waynoka in Major County. They moved from there to Woodward County in February 1911. From there they moved to Parmer County, Texas in January 1928, where they lived until 1933 when they moved back to Oklahoma.
He was left a widow July 23, 1940.
He was married to Stella Mae Brown April 2, 1941.
He was left a widow again February 17, 1949.
He has made his home in Waynoka the last few years. He has been a Christian and a member of the Church of God since 1920. He has been a faithful church attendant, where the children lovingly called him "The Candy Man".
Landon died in the Greens Hospital at Alva, Woods County, Oklahoma. He was a loving and thoughtful father and neighbor and will be greatly missed by all.
He leaves to mourn his passing seven children, Melvin Decker, of Quinlan, Elsie Russell, of Ashland, Oregan, Lorena Davidson, of Waynoka, Georgia McDongall, of California, William E. Fecker, of Avard, Lizzie Clemence, of Ashland, Oregon; 50 grandchildren, 49 great grandchildren, 3 nieces, a host of other relatives and friends.
A PRAYER
It is my joy in life to find
At every turning of the road,
The strong arm of comrade kind
To help me onward with my load.
And Since I have no gold to give,
And love alone must make amends,
My on prayer is while I live---
God make me worthy of my fiends.
