Macomb-Delbert W Young, 77, died Jul. 23, 2009 at Claxton Hepburn Medical Center in Ogdensburg.
Delbert was born on Oct. 25, 1931 in Macomb, NY to Wayne and Edith Wylie Young. He attended Morristown School and then entered the USAF in 1948 and dischargedin 1952. He married Genevieve M Papineau in Gouverneur with Rev. Wood officiating. Delbert worked as a woodsman for about 30 years selling firewood; he also worked at St.Joe Lead Mines for 7 years, then farmed, then owned and operated Young Well Drilling for 10 years. Surviving besides his wife of Macomb is a son and his fiancé David D Young and Penny Watson of Macomb; two sisters Grace Leonard of Morristown and Betty Jensen of Brier Hill and three grandchildren. Delbert is predeceased by two brothers Glen and Gerald Young and five sisters Leona Young, Helen Young, Margaret Carney, Lone Titus and Phyllis Washburn.
Graveside service with military honors at Riverside Cemetery in Gouverneur with Rev. James Warrington of the Macomb Wesleyan Church officiating.
