Leonard Hamilton Allen, Sr. (90) passed away on April 2, 2016. He was born in LaGrange, GA, in 1925. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II. Following his discharge from the service, he met and married Carrie Elizabeth Lee on Valentine's Day, 1947 in Montgomery, AL. He was employed with the Federal Bureau of Prisons, serving in the business and accounting department for 20 years. He moved to Millbrook, AL in June 1976 following his retirement, where he resided for 40 years.

He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many church positions including Branch President of the Montgomery Branch, Bishop of the Prattville Ward, and Patriarch of the Montgomery Alabama Stake.

He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth, Round Rock, TX, their son, Leonard H. Jr.(Donna), Round Rock, TX, and four daughters, Marilyn Franklin (Michael), Prattville, AL, Gail Rasmussen (Jim) Albuquerque, NM, Debbie Stauffer (Bob), Prattville, AL, and Becky Stiggins (Chuck) Provo, UT. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren, and 35 great grandchildren.

A viewing will be held from 5 - 8 PM on Friday, April 15th at the Ridout's Brown Chapel, 347 East Main Street, Prattville, AL. The funeral services will be held at 10 AM on Saturday, April 16th with a viewing from 8:30 - 9:45 AM at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints located at 2200 Cobb-Ford Road, Prattville, AL. Interment will be at the Goose Creek Cemetery in Marengo County, AL at 2 PM.
