NAPPANEE, IN — Peggy A. Flowers, 88, of Nappanee, died peacefully, surrounded by her family at noon Saturday, April 16, 2016 at Miller’s Merry Manor in Wakarusa, where she had been a patient since January.

She was born July 21, 1927, in Culver, to Raymond Ralph and Ruby (Emrick) Mikesell. Peggy lived in Culver until her senior year in high school. She then moved to this area and graduated from Bourbon High School. On Sept. 4, 1946, she married George Flowers at her parents’ home in Culver. Mrs. Flowers was a licensed public accountant for 50 years. She was a member of Nappanee United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Eastern Star for 50 years and served as treasurer for 20 years.

Peggy is survived by her husband, George; daughter Marla (Russell) Carlson of Cromwell; son Ralph (Nancy) Flowers of Muncie; grandchildren Brian Flowers, Julie Mast, Nic Carlson, Ashley Carlson, Andy Carlson, Mark Carlson and Ken Carlson; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a grandson, Michael Carlson; brother Walter Mikesell; and stepsister Willodean Keil.

Family and friends called from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 20, at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, and for one hour prior to the funeral service, which was at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 21, at Nappanee United Methodist Church. The Rev. Jim Davidson officiated and burial was in Union Center Cemetery.
