Jean was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Gerald Durwood "Bully" Smith, Frank Wayne "Cooter" Smith; one sister Claude Mae "Bigun" Smith Hanberry, one nephew Harold David "Little Bully" Smith, all of Sumrall, Mississippi. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, which was her best friend and Soul Mate, Kenneth Lee Hockin; two sons, Kenneth Wayne "Kenny" Hockin of Clear Lake, Texas, his children Kendal Lee Hockin of New York, New York; Madison Shanae Hockin of Deer Park, Texas; Michael Raymond "Mike" Hockin and wife Cindi, and his children Allison Rose Hockin and Kathryn Leigh Hockin, all of Thornton, Colorado; one daughter Patty Denise Bradley and her son Austin Stephen Bradley.
Jean is survived by: One brother James Earnest Smith; one sister Clyde Mae "Tiny" Smith Leonard, both of Alvin, Texas; four nieces from Sumrall, Mississippi, Judy Rebecca Hanberry, Debbie Lee Crawford, Renee Irene Shoemake, and Frances Lanelle Magee; one nephews Gerald Wayne "B.R." Smith, all of Sumrall, Mississippi; and Special Grandson, John Christopher Edwards of Lafayette, Louisiana, and numerous other relatives and close friends.
Services will be held at the Oak Park Chapel in Alvin, Texas and interment will be at the Confederate Cemetery.
Visitation will be Friday Evening April 22, 2016 and funeral service will be at 11AM Saturday April 23, 2016 with Graveside Services to follow at the Confederate Cemetery.
