Mr. Whitney died at a local hospital Friday after an apparent heart attack. He attended schools in Sacramento. He spent his early youth in Napa working at he George N. Briggs Ranch on Silverado Trail and later at the Napa State Hospital.
Mr. Whitney was employed by Pacific Fruit Express Co. for many years in the auditing department in San Francisco until is retirement here in 1947.
Survivors include his widow, Florence Moore Whitney.
