Ruth Ann Bright Philpott, 71, of Salisbury passed away Saturday, April 16, 2016 at the Glenn A. Kiser Hospice House due to complications of pancreatic cancer.
Born on November 18, 1944 in Council Bluffs, Iowa, she was the daughter of the late Norma Landis Bright and Clarence Otto Bright. She was also preceded in death by her brother Lee Bright.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband John R. Philpott of Salisbury; children Jeff Philpott (Michelle) of Columbia, SC and Jolene Philpott of Salisbury; grandchildren Callie Philpott and Tyler Philpott; sisters Bonnie Balfour of Brookfield, MO and Donna Lamp of Kansas; and grand “pups” Essie and Chloe Philpott.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Salisbury. She was also an active member of the PEO Chapter AX and the Country Club of Salisbury.
Thank you to all of the family, friends, Hospice and caregivers for the wonderful love and care provided to her.
Celebration of Life: 2:00, Friday, April 22, 2016 at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dr. Jeffrey Philpott officiating.
A reception will be held immediately following the celebration of life at the Country Club of Salisbury, 747 Club Drive, Salisbury, NC 28144.
In lieu of flowers, Ruth requested memorials to be made to the First United Methodist Church Music Program, 217 South Church Street, Salisbury, NC 28144 or the Sand Hills Community Church, 3513 Hard Scrabble Drive, Columbia, SC 29223.
