George Eldon Appleby, 85, Tulsa, Oklahoma, went home to be with the Lord Thursday, July 4, 2013.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Mobley-Dodson Funeral Service of Sand Springs, Oklahoma. A Celebration of George's life will be Monday, July 8, 2013, at 10:00am, in the Mobley-Dodson Funeral Service Chapel.

George was born in Albany, Kentucky, on January 3, 1928, to Eddie Appleby and Belle (Harvey) Appleby. Loving life and living it to the fullest was the motto that George used for living. Showing his love for his country, he served in the United States Air Force for over twenty years. Virginia DeGarmo became George's wife at their home in Tulsa on May 10, 1980. They traveled together all over the United States as active members of the Moose Travelers. Time nor space will not permit the recording of all the pranks and stunts that George pulled on his fellow travelers. Being the jokester he was kept his family on their toes. Teasing others, and swinging in the patio swing occupied the majority of George's time. The family and friends of George will miss his big smile and quick wit.
