Surrounded by her loving family Lone Grove native Edith Merle Wright, 80, passed to her Heavenly Home, Wednesday, April 13, 2016 from her Lone Grove residence.

Edith was born October 14, 1935 at Ardmore to the late, Jack Bright and Dovie (Marley) Bright, the first of four children. She grew up in Lone Grove and was a graduate of Lone Grove High School, the Class of 1953.

She and Monte Ray Wright were married October 15, 1955 at Lone Grove and were the parents of two children, Kathy and David. A lifetime member of Lone Grove's First Baptist Church, she had been a Lone Grove Elementary School Secretary for forty-years, retiring in 2015. She received the schools Support Personnel Award in 2014.

Edith's first joy was being with her family; and her second was being with her Lone Grove school family.

Standing at Heaven's Gate to welcome her Home were her parents, Jack and Dovie Bright, husband, Monte, son, David, brother, Gayle R. Bright, nephew, Raymond Bright and great-nephew, Derek Chaffin.

Survivors, who will forever cherish precious memories, include, her daughter, Kathy Twyford and husband, Larry; grandsons, Brandon Twyford and wife, Lacey, Jason Twyford and wife, Sherri; great grandchildren, Brody, Graci, Brax and Nathan Twyford; her brother, J. B. "Sonny" Bright and wife, Sally; sister, Margaret Goates and husband, Dale; sister-in-law, Linda Chaffin and husband, Jim; nephews, Ricky Bright and wife, Jimmie Ann, Billy Bright and wife, Barbara, Mark Goates and wife, Janet, Kent Goates and wife, Donna, Tim Chaffin and wife, Pam; nieces, Lori Bright, Kelli Hodges and husband, Steve, Robin Chaffin Beard and husband, Tim; and a host of great-nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends; not to forget the hundreds of Lone Grove students that fondly remember her.

A time of visitation and support for family and friends has been set for Thursday from 5:30 to 6:30 at Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home, Ardmore.

A Celebration of Edith's Life will be Friday, April 15, 2016 at 3:30 p.m. at The First Baptist Church of Lone Grove, officiated by Rev. Bill Black, Pastor Brandon Twyford and Rev. Morgan Ashworth.

Burial will follow at the Lone Grove Cemetery, with the assistance of Brandon Twyford, Jason Twyford, Charlie Rutledge, Tim Chaffin, Kent Goates and Mark Goates serving as pallbearers.

The family suggests memorials be made to Cross Timbers Hospice, in lieu of flowers.
