Buel V. Glazener, 89, of Canyon, died Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2001.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Dreamland Cemetery with the Rev. Alan Burkhalter, pastor of Chaparral Hills Baptist Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Brooks Funeral Directors.
Mr. Glazener was born Jan. 15, 1912, at Estelline, to Victor and Della Wilson Glazener. He married Esther Davis at Sayer, Okla., in 1933.
They lived in Vega until 1940 and lived in the tri-state area until 1942. They moved to Dalhart and lived there until 1989 when they moved to Canyon.
He was a brakeman/conductor for the Burlington and Rock Island Railroads and retired with more than 50 years of railroading. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Canyon.
He was preceded in death by his wife in 1996; two sisters, Thelma V. Davis in 1997 and Ruth Ashmead; and a brother, Dewey Glazener in 1968.
Survivors include three sons, Gene Glazener of Canyon, Larry Glazener of Dallas and Gary Glazener of Mesa, Ariz.; two brothers, Victor Glazener of Santa Paula, Calif., and H.C. Glazener of Costa Mesa, Calif.; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials be to American Cancer Society, 3915 Bell St., Amarillo, TX 79109 or Baptist St. Anthony's Hospice, P.O. Box 950, Amarillo, TX 79176.
