Charles F. Crowl, 65, Huntington, IN, passed away on Monday, April 11, 2016, at Miller’s Merry Manor, Huntington, IN.


Mr. Crowl was born on July 11, 1950, in Huntington, IN, to Harry M. and Agnes L. (Creager) Crowl. His parents preceded him in death.

Mr. Crowl graduated from Huntington Catholic High School in 1968. He was a Custodian and Stocker for many years at Hook’s Drug Store, Pyle Industries, City Beverage, Huntington YMCA and retired in 2006 from Niswander Auto Dealership.

He was a member of SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Huntington, IN. He enjoyed volunteering at Huntington Catholic School and would help out with general groundskeeping, scoreboard operator, and scorekeeper for games and other various positions for over 30 years. Due to all Mr. Crowl’s hours of volunteering the Huntington Catholic School honored him with the Charlie Crowl Volunteer Award in his name. Charlie was also an avid Notre Dame and Cubs fan.

Mr. Crowl is survived by one sister, Charleen (Doyle) Ruble, Warren, IN; one niece, Brooke Worley, Warren, IN; one nephew, Roger (Jenelyn) Ruble, Guam; one great niece, Sarah Lorne; three great nephews, Anthony Worley, Joseph Worley, and Derek Ruble. He is also survived by his Aunt, LaVerne Jankovic, WI; and several cousins.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, April 22, 2016, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church, 860 Cherry Street, Huntington, IN, prior to Mass.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, April 22, 2016, at 10:00 a.m. at SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church, 860 Cherry Street, Huntington, IN, with Father Ron Rieder, OFM Cap presiding.

In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Huntington Catholic School or SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church, in care of McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home, 715 N Jefferson Street, Huntington, IN 46750.

Burial will be held at a later date at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Huntington, IN.
