Cone Baker, 54, Called in Death

Mrs. Emma L. Baker, 404 McArthur street, received word Wednesday night of the death of her son, Cone T. Baker, 54, at his home in Los Angeles, Calif.

Mr. Baker was born and reared in Muscatine, leaving here for the west about 30 years ago. No details of funeral plans were received.

Funeral Rites Held for Cone T. Baker at Richmond, Calif.

Funeral services for Cone T. Baker, who died suddenly with a heart attack were held Sunday, in Richmond, Calif., where he had made his home.

Mr. Baker was born April 15, 1883 at Delta, Colo., coming to Muscatine when a child and receiving his education here. At the age of 24 years he started west, residing in Portland, Ore., for a time and later in Alaska where he married Miss CLARA IDA SONNEMAN.

Leaving there he settled on a fruit ranch in Hood River, Ore., where he spent a number of years. Then he took a position as overseer in a reserve at Klemath Dalls. About 10 years ago, with his family, he moved to California where he was engaged in hand wood carving, with studios at Berkley and Richmond, Calif.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Clara Baker,
a daughter, CORRENE at home,
two sons, SIDNEY, of Hollywood
and CALVIN JACKSON of Joy, Ill.,

a sister, Mrs. Arleigh RUCKESCHEL and a brother, Calvin, of Portland, Ore.,
his mother, Mrs. Emma L.(HARRIS) Baker,
a brother, Glenn and three sisters.
Mrs. MAUDE HARKER,
Mrs. O. O. DONOHOO and
Mrs. Pearl B. SCHAULAND, all of Muscatine.

His father, Theodore Baker and a brother, Guy, preceded him in death.
