Dorothy Marie Arnold Koenig of Victoria, born November 6, 1940 in Cuero, Texas, passed away Saturday, April 9, 2016. Dorothy was a 1958 graduate of Cuero High School. She was involved in various school activities, a member of the Pep Squad and crowned Gobbler Queen. She attended Victoria College before marrying Don Koenig in 1960.

After raising their five children, Dorothy worked as a Nurse's Aide at the Victoria Women's Clinic for 20 years until her retirement in 2005. In November 1964 Dorothy pledged to the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and was a Silver (25 year) and Gold (50 year) Circle Award member of the Laureate Alpha Omicron Chapter. She held the offices of President, Vice President, Recording Secretary, Corresponding Secretary and Treasurer, and was a recipient of the Order of the Rose. Dorothy was a very active member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.

Dorothy loved gardening, "junking", game nights, traveling, cooking her famous "hodge podge" meals for her family and friends, hosting holiday gatherings and life in general.

She is survived by her children, Donna Hoffman (Jay) of College Station; Mickey DeDear (Scott); Jimmy Koenig and Johnny Koenig (Wendi), all of Victoria; sisters, Anna Frers (Mike), Mary Arnold (Terry Stock), Susie Dreyer (Jerry), Chrissie West (Kenneth), all of Cuero; five grandchildren, Erin Burge (Jud) of Austin, Kyle Hoffman of College Station, Emily and Parker DeDear, Gruenely Koenig; and two step-grandchildren, Caraline and Madison Funari, all of Victoria.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, James and Mary Forster Arnold; husband, Don Koenig; daughter, Dienne "Dede" Koenig and brother, Kenny Arnold.

The family will hold a visitation on Tuesday, April 12, 2016 from 6 to 8 pm at Colonial Funeral Home, Victoria. On Wednesday, April 13, 2016, a rosary will be recited at 9:30 am followed by a 10:00 am Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with Rev. Albert Yankey officiating. Following a luncheon, burial will be held at 2:00 pm at Hillside Cemetery in Cuero with Deacon Jim Koenig officiating. Pallbearers are Ben Bolech, Jud Burge, Richard Carpenter, Kyle Hoffman, Dallas Presley and Terry Sala. Honorary pallbearers will be Zac Jordan, Parker DeDear and Members of the Laureate Alpha Omicron Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi.
